What file formats are accepted?

FileMint accepts .xlsx (Excel 2007 and later) and .xls (Excel 97-2003) files. The maximum file size is 10 MB for anonymous users and 50 MB for logged-in users.

Which sheet gets converted?

By default the first sheet (index 0) is converted. You can specify a different sheet by typing its name (e.g. "Sales") or its zero-based numeric index (e.g. "2" for the third sheet) in the Target Sheet field.

Why would I choose semicolon or tab instead of comma?

If your data contains commas — for example, addresses or currency values formatted with thousands separators — switching to a semicolon or tab delimiter avoids quoting conflicts and keeps the CSV cleaner for tools like Excel or LibreOffice Calc.

How are empty cells handled?

Empty cells are exported as empty fields (two consecutive delimiters), not as "NaN" or "None" strings. This ensures clean import in databases and data tools.

Can I convert multi-sheet workbooks?

Accepted Answer

Currently the converter exports one sheet per download. To convert multiple sheets, run the converter once per sheet, specifying the sheet name or index each time.

Is my data secure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your file is processed on our servers and deleted immediately after the conversion is complete. We never store or share your data.
