What happens to transparent areas in my PNG?

Transparency (alpha channel) is not supported by the JPEG format. FileMint automatically fills all transparent areas with a clean white background during conversion, which is the standard expected behavior.

Will I lose quality converting from PNG to JPG?

Accepted Answer

Some quality loss is inherent to the JPEG format because it uses lossy compression. With our 'Highest Quality' setting, the difference is nearly imperceptible. Our 'Recommended' setting gives an excellent balance for most use cases.

Anonymous users can convert PNG files up to 20 MB. Creating a free account increases this limit to 50 MB per file.
